ANIMALS ARE THE MAGICIANS
Animals are the Magicians is an ongoing collection of interconnected short stories concerned with animal suffering and transcendence. Part green fable, part love letter to the dead, the narrative unfolds through the experiences of Lindo, the red fox, and his encounters with animals, man and landscape. The wild animal kingdom, barbarian and ambiguous, is presented as a vulnerable but primitive and beneficent grail with profound implications for the human condition as it lives in nature.
"Among the roots, in rings of time not quite a year, he had built a world between her bones. Horsehair, spun across her coat, constrained largess of leaf and moss, and tiny rocks that filled the void were scored each one with rough designs of moon and sun."
